Germany's GEO Group invests in building a renewable energy workforce training and development centre in Binh Dinh
On the morning of June 18, 2025, at the headquarters of the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Chairman Pham Anh Tuan met and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on investment cooperation in building a renewable energy workforce training and development centre with leaders of Germany's GEO Group and O-DOOR Vietnam. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of relevant departments of the province and Quy Nhon University.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Franz Josef Claes, President of GEO Group, expressed his confidence in the potential for renewable energy development in Viet Nam, especially in Binh Dinh province. He appreciated the support and companionship of Binh Dinh provincial government in the past time in the process of promoting the project, and committed to speeding up the implementation of related work contents under the responsibility of the group in the coming time.
Sharing about the project, Mr. Homan Seyedin, Marketing and Business Director of Asia of GEO Group and its subsidiaries, said that the group currently has 22 training centers in 12 countries around the world, but no place has been designed and built a project implementation plan as methodically and modernly as in Binh Dinh. He expected the center not only to train human resources for Viet Nam but also to become a prestigious address for the Southeast Asia region. GEO is committed to bringing the most modern technology to move towards a truly circular and renewable advanced industry in Binh Dinh and Viet Nam.
The center is expected to meet international standards, capable of providing thousands of GWO certified technicians each year in the fields of wind power, solar power, and green hydrogen. The training program will be transferred and the quality assessed by prestigious certification organizations such as DNV, TÜVand so on, helping students after training to be able to work immediately at large domestic and international energy companies, or master local green engineering models.
In addition, the Group also wishes to cooperate with Quy Nhon University in training and developing human resources for the project. It is expected that the school will be a strategic partner in building training programs, organizing technical practice, providing lecturers and coordinating research on new technologies.
Ms. Mai Thi Ngoc Thuy, CEO of O-DOOR Vietnam, shared that the company sets sustainable development as a guiding principle, linking business development with the national goal of clean energy. When put into operation, the center will be the first step for the Company and the Group to build a green living community and create more high-quality job opportunities for Vietnamese youth in general and Binh Dinh province in particular.

At the meeting, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan highly appreciated the contents of the project and emphasized that the signing of the MOU today demonstrates the determination to turn Binh Dinh into a clean energy center, training green workforce leading the country and the region. He affirmed that Binh Dinh province would create the most favorable conditions for the project to be implemented soon, from the stage of completing detailed planning, adjusting land use planning to fully applying investment incentives and starting construction of the project in accordance with the regulations.
In the framework of the working session, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province, GEO Group and O-DOOR Vietnam signed the MOU on investment cooperation. According to the MOU, GEO Group, a pioneer of wind farm development in Germany, will cooperate and form a joint venture with O-DOOR Vietnam to establish a legal entity in Viet Nam to invest in the construction of a renewable energy workforce training and development centre in Phu My District, with a total project investment of 50 million USD, on an area of 20 hectares.
In the framework of the working session, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province, GEO Group and O-DOOR Vietnam signed the MOU on investment cooperation.
