Standing Committee Delegation of Salavan Provincial People's Council (Laos) visits for New Year greetings
On the morning of January 6, 2026, at the headquarters of Gia Lai Provincial People's Council and National Assembly Delegation, Ms. Huynh Thuy Van - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council received the delegation from the Standing Committee of Salavan Provincial People's Council of the Lao People's Democratic Republic visiting the province to extend greetings for the Vietnamese Lunar New Year 2026. The meeting was attended by the leaders of the Provincial People's Council Committees, the Office of the Provincial People's Council and National Assembly Delegation, and Gia Lai Department of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Siheng Homsombat - Head of the National Assembly Delegation for Electoral Area No. 14, Chairman of Salavan Provincial People's Council emphasized great friendship, special solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos in general and between Gia Lai and Salavan provinces in particular, extended condolences and sympathy to the people of Gia Lai province who suffered heavy losses due to the typhoons and floods at the end of 2025, and provided information on the socio-economic development of Salavan province as well as the activities of Salavan Provincial People's Council. He also wished Gia Lai province a success in implementing the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, in building Gia Lai province into an increasingly prosperous and strong province, and hoped that Gia Lai province would continue to promote comprehensive cooperation programs in many fields, especially the implementation of investment cooperation projects in Salavan province, in order to contribute to consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic linkage between the two Parties, two States, and the people of the two countries.
On the occasion of the upcoming Vietnamese Lunar New Year, he wished the leaders, officials, and people of Gia Lai province a happy New Year and new victories in the new year and also extended an invitation to the leaders of Gia Lai province to visit Salavan province in the near future.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of Gia Lai Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thuy Van expressed her pleasure in welcoming the delegation to visit the province for New Year greetings; affirming that the special friendship between Viet Nam and Laos is a loyal and pure relationship, diligently nurtured by many generations of leaders and becoming an invaluable asset of both countries. She also informed about the outstanding results of the province's socio-economic development, the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units, and the operation of the two-tiered local government model in Gia Lai province; and affirmed that Gia Lai province would continue to consolidate and develop friendly cooperative relations with Salavan province.
