On the morning of December 25, 2025, at the headquarters of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and People's Council, Mr. Rah Lan Chung - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council received Mr. Sakai Tsuneharu, Head of the House of Representatives Election Committee (National Diet of Japan) for District 5, Miyagi Prefecture, of Japan Innovation Party and Japan-Viet Nam Exchange Center delegation. The meeting was also attended by Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Truong Van Dat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thuy Van, representatives from the Provincial People's Council Committees, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and Provincial People's Council and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Rah Lan Chung expressed his delight in receiving the delegation and provided a brief overview of the province's natural conditions and socio-economic achievements in recent years. Since July 1, 2025, the merger of the former Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces has expanded the development space and brought together many advantages for attracting investment and socio-economic development.

Over the past period, the province has regularly organized activities to attract investment, connect and promote friendly cooperation between the province and the Japanese localities and partners; sent many investment promotion delegations to Japan to introduce information about the potential and advantages and invite Japanese investors and businesses to survey and explore cooperation and investment opportunities in the province in the fields of trade, agricultural production, industry, health, and education. The province appreciated the contributions of Japanese businesses to the socio-economic development of the locality in the past.

During the meeting, Mr. Sakai Tsuneharu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the leaders of Gia Lai province. He said, Gia Lai Province and Miyagi Prefecture have many similarities, not only in terms of beautiful scenery, cool weather, and fresh air, but also in socio-economic conditions such as population, culture, forestry and agricultural development, and both are focusing on renewable energy.

After exploring the potential and strengths of Gia Lai during the visit, he would propose Miyagi implement more practical cooperation activities with Gia Lai province, especially encouraging Miyagi’s businesses to Gia Lai for seeking investment opportunites.

The delegation from Japan-Viet Nam Exchange Center also discussed issues related to labor export from Gia Lai to Japan, investment by Japanese businesses in Gia Lai, and the organization of investment and trade promotion activities. They also expressed their hope that Gia Lai province would continue to support Japanese businesses investing in the province.

At the end of the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Rah Lan Chung hoped that the delegation and Mr. Sakai Tsuneharu would continue to connect Japanese businesses to Gia Lai for surveys of investment opportunities; provide support in introducing Gia Lai's potential, advantages, and unique products to the Japanese market to create more cooperation opportunities; maintain and expand friendly cooperation and exchange activities between the two sides.

As part of a survey program from December 25 and 26, 2025, the delegation visited the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park, the Fujiwara solar power plant in the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, and Quy Nhon University.
