On the morning of October 18, 2022, at the Provincial People's Committee Headquarters, an online and face-to-face investment promotion seminar between Binh Dinh province and Australian businesses was organized by Becamex IDC Corporation in collaboration with Binh Dinh People's Committee. Attending the seminar at the Binh Dinh point were Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee with representatives of relevant departments and Mr. Nguyen Van Lang - General Director of Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen The Duy - Marketing Director of English-Speaking Market of Becamex IDC Corporation. Authorized by Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, on the afternoon of 31st May 2022, Binh Dinh Department of Foreign Affairs held the meeting with Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (FNGOs), licensed in Binh Dinh province. On the afternoon of April 13, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Phi Long had a meeting with the delegation of German Industry and Commerce Vietnam (GIC Vietnam) and PNE Group led by Mr. Marko Walde, Chief Representative of GIC Vietnam and Mr. Markus Lesser, CEO of PNE Group. At the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, the high-ranking delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid an official visit to Japan from November 22nd to 25th. COVID-19 and its impact on province’s external activities

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially from the beginning of 2021 until now, it has not only caused the great impact on the economy but also on the people’s lives, activities and health in the world. In Vietnam, some localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Binh Duong, etc. have been applying the strongest measures of isolation and social distancing such as "everyone stays in one place", "everyone stays at his/her own house", "everyone is not allowed to go out for 07-15 days", etc. In Binh Dinh province, although the situation is a little bit better, it is stressful: the number of deaths has reached 5 (as of August 20th, 2021); the number of localities (communes) which have been following Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister is increasing; the State agencies, political and social organizations are taking measures to strengthen medical declaration, reducing the number of meetings and the number of people working daily at the office not exceeding 50% to ensure the requirements for social distancing and prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Binh Dinh continues granting scholarships to students of Southern provinces of Laos

The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province has just issued official Letter Ref. 5000/UBND-NC dated August 13th, 2021 saying it agreed to grant scholarships for the academic year 2021-2022 to the students and cadres of 04 Southern provinces of Laos (Attapu, Champasak, Salavan and Sekong) to study at Quy Nhon University and Quy Nhon College of Engineering and Technology.

Existing situation and proposed measures to manage foreign direct investment enterprises in Binh Dinh province

Binh Dinh province has attracted 87 foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, with a total registered capital of about USD 1.02 billion (38 enterprises have investment projects in Nhon Hoi economic zone and industrial parks, with a total registered capital of about USD 743 million and 49 enterprises have projects outside Nhon Hoi Economic Zone and industrial parks, with a total amount of about USD 272 million) of the foreign investors from 21 countries and territories such as Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Germany, China, the United States, France, Singapore, etc. Most of the enterprises are small and medium-sized ones, with an average capital of about USD 12 million per enterprise. The biggest one is Viet My hotel and tourism Co.,Ltd (USA) with the total registered investment capital of USD 250 million (not yet in operation) and the smallest ones are V&J Human Resource Co., Ltd (Japan) and V&J Human Resource School Co., Ltd (Japan), with the total registered capital of USD 30 thousand each.
