Provincial leaders meet with Hungarian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City and Secretary General of International Federation of Teqball

On March 20, 2024, at the Provincial People's Committee Headquarters, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan met with Mr. Lehőcz Gábor, Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Laszlo Vajda, Secretary General of the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ). Working together were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang and provincial related agencies.

At the meeting, Mr. Laszlo Vajda - FITEQ’s Secretary General said that Teqball was created in Hungary in 2012 and quickly attracted the whole world. Currently this sport is popular in 150 countries with 2,000 clubs. Teqball will be included in the competition at the 2028 Olympics. With the goal of expanding international cooperation, promoting exchanges and developing the sport of teqball in Viet Nam, FITEQ proposes to organize the teqball international competition - Teqball World Series in Quy Nhon and many countries will participate in this event. FITEQ appointed Saigon Sports Investment Company as the exclusive licensee and developer of this sport in Viet Nam. Mr. Laszlo Vajda hoped that Binh Dinh province would send coaches, athletes and representatives of relevant agencies to visit FITEQ in Hungary for trainings and exchanges; coordinate to successfully organize Teqball World Series in Binh Dinh next June.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan thanked FITEQ for choosing Quy Nhon to host the Teqball World Series and agreed on the time to organize the event in June as proposed by FITEQ. For successful organisation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan hoped that the Hungarian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City would continue to support Binh Dinh province; and FITEQ is requested to promptly inform the necessary conditions for organizing the tournament as well as welcoming guests and international teams; strengthening propaganda in many countries around the world to participate in the tournament. The Chairman also committed to creating the best conditions to successfully organize the Teqball World Series.
On this occasion, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan invited Mr. Lehőcz Gábor and Mr. Laszlo Vajda to attend the UIM F1H2O International Professional Powerboat Race and UIM-ABP AQUABIKE Binh Dinh Grand Prix 2024 held in the province this weekend and next weekend.
The same afternoon, FITEQ visited and donated 8 teqball tables at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center and two universities in the province.
